Deleting your data from Dossilia
Last updated: November 3, 2026
How to ask for your personal information to be deleted from Dossilia, including data received when you sign in with Google or Facebook. No sign-in is required to read this page.
1. What you can ask for
You can ask for the information Dossilia holds about you to be deleted: your account, the information received from Google or Facebook when you signed in (email, name, app-specific identifier) and the associated data. Choose the option that suits you below.
2. Option A: delete your account yourself
- Sign in to Dossilia (with your email, or with Google or Facebook).
- Open your name menu, then My account, then My data and privacy.
- Choose Delete my account (direct link after signing in) and confirm.
Deletion happens in two steps: a 30-day grace period during which you can change your mind and cancel, then permanent deletion. Before deleting a firm’s account, you can export your space’s data (ZIP file).
3. Option B: remove only the Google or Facebook sign-in
- In Dossilia: My account, then unlink Google or Facebook (possible when another way to sign in exists, such as a password).
- At Google: myaccount.google.com/permissions, choose Dossilia, then “Remove access”.
- At Facebook: Settings & privacy, Settings, then Apps and Websites, select Dossilia and remove it. You can also tick the option to delete posts and activity; Dossilia posts nothing on your behalf.
4. Option C: write to us
Send an email to confidentialite@dossilia.com from your account’s email address, with the subject “Deletion of my data”, stating whether your account was created with Google or Facebook. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We acknowledge receipt without delay and reply in writing within 30 days at most. Once the deletion is done, we send you a confirmation.
5. What is deleted
- your user account and settings (name, email, password protected by hashing);
- the link to your Google or Facebook account (app-specific identifier, email and name received from the provider); Dossilia does not store your profile picture;
- for a firm that deletes its account: the files, documents, messages and other data in its space, at the end of the grace period;
- open sessions and sign-in tokens.
6. What may be kept, and for how long
- Information that the law or a firm’s regulatory body requires it to keep (for example items in a client file, invoices). The default retention period is 5 years and the firm can adjust it according to its profession; the firm decides file by file what is deleted and replies to you in writing within 30 days.
- A minimal security log (for example the record that a deletion took place), for as long as our legal obligations require.
- Backup copies, which are overwritten on their normal cycle.
7. Are you a firm’s client?
The information in your file is the responsibility of your firm. Contact them first; we help them respond, and you can also write to us at confidentialite@dossilia.com. See the privacy policy.
